Environmental Sustainability
At Ikies of Mykonos, we take full account of the current and future impact of the tourism
development to the environment. We promote sustainable tourism practices, in order to mitigate
negative effects caused by the growing impact of tourism in Aegean sea and we participate on the
fight for the environmental issues of our planet.
- We are proud to announce that “Ikies of Mykonos” has an Organic farm. Please treat
nature with great respect, take a quiet walk with mother nature, it will nourish your mind,
body and soul.
Mykonos has always been a small, picturesque island, with poor water supplies and infrastructure.
The last days the island faces a shortage of water supply & power outage due to a very “dry” winter
and very high temperatures during summer.
We would like to place a kind request for you to participate in our effort:
- Reduce the water consumption as best as possible. Do not leave water running
at your basin or shower and inform us of any water running you may see.
- Although we pride ourselves for the level of services we offer on the housekeeping
department; we normally change linens almost every day, so in case you need some extra
service, just inform our Front Desk.
- Maintain your room’s A/C temperature in a specific level (guidelines from the government
have been received for lowest to be at 24 degrees Celsius)
- Turn off lamps & devices not in use while you are out of the room.
Close out black out curtains during the day, thus minimizing excess temperature from
the sun.
- Power outages: under extreme weather conditions, there may be a power outage. We
would like to ask that you, if a storm arises, turn off and remove as many plugs as possible. If
the lights fail, there are emergency lights and candles in all the villas.
- Greek islands are ramping up efforts to reach zero waste and cut carbon emissions as
Greece races to catch up with the EU's stringent recycling goals.

- HEALTH COMES FIRST Please be assured that your health and safety is a top priority for
us. Our cleanliness standards have always been meticulous, with eco-friendly products. We
have followed all precautionary measures, to ensure your safety and comfort, in order for
you to have the most memorable and uncompromised experience, during your stay with us.
